WHEN RIVERS TURN RED is a fiction-based novel about the drastic situation during the Emergency in India between 1975 and 1977, which prevailed in India. Like in any other part of the world, rivers hold a unique place in the Indian revolution and literature. These rivers are a source of livelihood for various fishermen in the state of Kerala in India and are, therefore, nothing less than a blessing. With as many as over forty-four rivers in the state, there is no doubt why this place is called God’s own country.
