Interviewer: First of all, I would like to congratulate you on the release of your poetry book The Firewall between Light and Darkness. How do you feel about it? Tell us something about the book?
Nazima Farooq Lone: I feel sophisticated about my poetry book as it is my second publication, and a wide range of emotions and feelings. “The Firewall between light and Darkness” is an anthology which contain my number of poems related to life, nature, heartbreak, and on many other experiences.
Interviewer: Please tell me about poetry? What is your perception about poetry?
Nazima Farooq Lone: By the time kids become teenagers, they’re often experiencing a wide range of emotions and are starting to think long term (like what the rest of their life might look like). Poetry is excellent resource to help them navigate these thoughts and feelings, and the more inspiring they are, the more hope they offer. To be honest there hasn’t been a single book that saved my life, but there have been books that made me seek help I need or made me see something different or most importantly help me embrace myself. I have anxiety and poetry is my escape from it but sometimes they are also my way of accepting and embracing it.
Interviewer: At a young age you have successfully published two books. When did you start writing poetry? Do you remember the first time you wrote something?
Nazima Farooq Lone: Yeah at a young age I am the author of two books my first book Limitless and now it’s my second book the firewall between light and darkness. I still remember I start writing at the age of 13.When I was in 9th standard after 1 year of my father’s death as there was no one with whom I can share my feelings and my thoughts. At that time I was suffering from depression and than once I took a pen and notebook I wrote a poem and than I proceed my work than it makes the collection of poems so I came to publish my book and than I continue my writing and I make my writing my books my best friend!
