Biographical Info: Williamsji Maveli is the senator member of WORLD UNION OF POETS and Founder of WHORLED WIDE WRITERS, world’s most active writers forum. Interviewer: First of all, I would like to congratulate you on the release of your 65th book – Rainbows! How do you feel about it? Tell us something about the book?
Williamsji Maveli: Poetry is a compact language that expresses complex feelings. To understand the multiple meanings of a poem, readers must examine its words and phrasing from the perspectives of rhythm, sound, images, obvious meaning, and implied meaning. Readers then need to organize responses to the verse into a logical, point-by-point explanation. For some readers, to interpret a poem or explain the plot can be a difficult task. “RAINBOWS” is a collection of 79 poems. This is like a poetic fruit garden of revelations and a real poetic love experience, to add little more, a whole, as embodied, and engaged poetic life journey from the soulful mind-set of an upcoming poet.
Interviewer: What kind of surroundings do you get which inspires you and makes you a poet?
Williamsji Maveli: The one who feels, “This is my impulse; this is my idea; this I must bring into action”, only knows of the idea from the moment it has become manifest to his view. He therefore calls it free will. But from where did that idea come to him? Where does impulse come from? It comes, directly or indirectly, from within. Sometimes it may seem to come from outside, but it always starts from within, and thus every impulse for a mystic poetry is a divine impulse. One may ask, why is not every impulse divine for everybody, since every impulse has its origin within? It is because not everybody knows it to be so. The divine part of the impulse is in realizing it is divine.
Interviewer: From which age have you started to compose verse? As a poet have you followed any other poets’ style whether it is classical poets or romantic poets or modern poets?
Williamsji Maveli: Since childhood itself, say when I was 14 years of age, No. I was following my own style and structure in my writing, though I was much influenced many poets like Christina Rossetti, William Wordsworth and shelly. Etc.
Interviewer: When you are writing a poem, what do you prefer most, sir – the thought that inspired you or the result/the effect you wanted to achieve?
Williamsji Maveli: The original thought is very important. I feel that, if a person is facing a difficult situation in life, they tend to be more creative. A person leading a luxurious life can rarely be poetic. From my perspective, real poetry is created from physical pain. Writing during such times helps dilute the pain. I am not saying happiness and other positive situations may not lead to poetry, but the emotional depth in them will be minimal. The poetry converted from sorrow or pain is on a different level altogether.
Interviewer: In creation of poetry, what you think is more dominant – the thought or the emotions?
Williamsji Maveli: Emotions, though thoughts can may or may not play a vital role to bring out the book more effective.
Interviewer: Personal experiences… sir, what poetry can do to the world? Do you think, as a poet, personal experiences can help people while reading your poem?
Williamsji Maveli: Yes, 100% Yes. A poet sees one plan, working and making its way towards a desired result, and every poet, whether willingly or unwillingly, contributes towards the accomplishment of that plan; and this contribution to the plan is considered by one to be free will and by another accident. Hence, write on all your most painful incidents or situations confronted in your own life to make them more effective, moreover, be sincere and honest while writing in any form or genre.
Interviewer: Any other books or writing projects that you are currently working on?
Williamsji Maveli: Yes, I am currently making the manuscripts for SHWETA INSPIRES Trilogy, 2nd book named GREEN QUEEN and the 3rd one titled “BLUE PEARLS” all based on inspirational themes. Moreover, few translation books to my mother-tongue, Malayalam too.
