Interviewer: Many congratulations on your wonderful book Destiny: Cause Love Knows No Age, Raunak Sarkar! How do you feel about it? Tell us something about your book?
Raunak Sarkar: Firstly, thanks a lot, this is my debut book so yeah obviously am feeling good and positive about it. Speaking about my book Destiny, it is like a roller coaster ride of being crazy in love to become heartbroken which I feel like everyone will be able to relate. It speaks about the importance of self-love and friendship and I feel like the actual meaning of love has been beautifully described in this book.
Interviewer: “Destiny: Cause Love Knows No Age” is your debut book, how exactly you thought of writing this book?
Raunak Sarkar: I used to write short stories in Instagram before when many of my friends suggested me to write a book. It was at that time when I thought okay why not turn these short stories regarding my life into a book? After that I talked about this with my lover and she also promised to help me, it was since then January 2021, I started working on my book along with the constant support from my lover.
Interviewer: Does one of the main characters hold a special place in your heart? If so, why?
Raunak Sarkar: Yeah, the character Rahul who was my best friend in the book holds a special place in my heart. The reason behind that is being for his constant support, help and understanding my feelings and emotions throughout the journey of Destiny.
Interviewer: If you had to describe character Raunak in three words, what would those three words be?
Raunak Sarkar: Okay so describing Raunak in three words, it would be a person who is – selfless, committed and forgiving.
Interviewer: What were the key challenges you faced when writing this book? What was the highlight of writing this book?
Raunak Sarkar: Being a first-time author I was having no idea regarding how to write a book or how to start a chapter as well as how to manage time for writing. It was Diya, my lover who helped me in all these aspects along with many modifications while writing this book. The highlight of writing this book was to spread the message of self-love and the story of my life with others as I felt like everyone will be able to relate to some extent or the other with the content of the book.
Interviewer: What is your favourite genre to read, and why?
Raunak Sarkar: My favourite genre to read is romantic novels with a bit of hardships and struggles for being together. I love this genre cause I myself can easily relate to the storyline and can feel each and every word of the story.
Interviewer: What books or authors have most influenced your own writing? Who is the author you most admire in your genre?
Raunak Sarkar: I myself haven’t read much books but the book naming Why not me? A feeling of millions has influenced me to write my first debut book. The author naming Anubhav Agarwal is the author I admire the most in my genre.
Interviewer: What do you hope your readers take away from this book?
Raunak Sarkar: I want my readers to feel and relate themselves with the story completely, the book has been beautifully penned down starting from the first to last. At the end of the final chapter, I want my readers to appreciate the time, the memories and the beautiful moments they spent with their loved ones in the past without having any hatred for them and to understand the fact that “you too need to love yourself first before loving someone else.”

Interviewer: Any message for readers regarding the book?
Raunak Sarkar: Sometimes we need to accept the fact that no matter how much we try and how much efforts we give in our relationship, if the other person doesn’t want to stay then neither you can do anything nor you can change the outcome or the end result. It’s when we start blaming our destiny whereas there is nothing called destiny in life, it’s basically our deeds which are responsible for the outcome.
