Biographical Info: Aarti Purswani is a third-year college student. She is pursuing BBA (hons) major in Marketing. She is a social media enthusiast. Few of her hobbies are horse riding, swimming, and dancing. Also, she is a creative person. She would also like to consider herself a cursive writing aficionado. She writes when she doesn’t feel like herself or when she feels the most about herself. This is the first book that she has written, and writing poetry is surely her passion but she might not pursue it as her profession. She is more of a fun spirit person, who likes to engage with people. She is also interested in Event Management. She feels it satisfies all her abilities to their potential.

Interviewer: First of all, I would like to congratulate you on the release of your book – You Don’t settle, rise! How do you feel about it? Tell us something about the book?
Aarti Purswani: Thank you so much, it wouldn’t have been possible without your team. My book has poems which all of us can relate and connect to. My book is not only for adults or kids but it is for everyone who has felt lost, empty, distant or not belonged. There is always a phase in our life when we feel like we aren’t a good fit, my book will help you to understand that everyone has their demons, you just have to grit your teeth and move on. My book suggests that this feeling is common and okay to have, which is vital for all to understand. My book has poems on one sided love and heart breaks or ocean and hell.
Interviewer: What inspired you to write this book? Tell us about the book title, what does it mean?
Aarti Purswani: In this pandemic, everyone saw bad news, people losing family, money or everything. It was a very difficult time in everyone’s life, so I wrote this book for everyone to give them the ray of hope that they might need now or 10 years later. The book title suggests that these poems are for “you”. This book is not for me or any one, but for all.
Interviewer: Please share any stanza you have written and you repeat it most of the times.
Aarti Purswani: This stanza is from “Sadness in Shower”.
You know it’s the time,
To step out in the real world,
It is when you start,
Realising your own worth.
Accepting all the insecurity,
Instead of getting sucked in by the gravity.
Interviewer: When did you start writing poetry? Do you remember the first time you wrote something? What was the source of your inspiration earlier? Did it change with time?
Aarti Purswani: I started writing when I was13 years old. Yes, I wrote about rain, army men and dance. My source were my books, anything that I read or saw. Yes, it definitely has changed, now my inspiration is my feelings, its not anything that I can see or read it is what I feel. Of course, it changed with time because as I grew and learned, I faced new experiences which moulded me into who I am today.
Interviewer: What do you enjoy doing the most when you’re not reading or writing?
Aarti Purswani: I love to travel, binge watch series and spend time with my close ones.
Interviewer: What is your favourite genre to read, and why?
Aarti Purswani: My favourite genre to read and watch is rom-com and thrillers. This is because both of these grasp our attention and we get something fruitful like a moral, or a learning experience from them.
Interviewer: What books or authors have most influenced your own writing? Who is the author you most admire?
Aarti Purswani: To be honest, I am not that serious of a reader. I am more into writing. Also, I am inspired by my friends who are great poets too.
Interviewer: Who is the most supportive person in your life when it comes to your writing?
Aarti Purswani: When it comes to writing all my family members and friends have been really supportive and helpful. But, most importantly my brother has never left my side when it comes to writing. He has always been supportive, no matter what.

Aarti Purswani: Keep this book with you as long as you can and pass it down to your generations who might need it in future. This book can become your motivation to boost your self-confidence and will surely help you realise your own worth.
